BAM BAM
Growth rate is critical, perhaps the most important factor, for a meat goat herd; the more weight they put on, the more the farmer has to sell. We purchased DJG Bam Bam for this reason; increase the genetic potential for growth in ouroffspring.
Bam Bam was bred by Dan and Heidi Gibbons at Gibbons Family Farm/ Northeast Ohio Kikos. He was entered into the 2020 WVU Buck Test where he placed #9 overall. He placed #1 for Average Daily Growth (ADG) by a decent margin. He was #1 for Ribeye Area (REA), but was penalized in the adjusted REA due to exceeding a weight of 100-lbs.
Bam Bam exhibits an extraordinary body conformation: long legs and neck, strong back, a wide mouth and incredible ribeye area. Watch for his offspring in future buck tests!
CARBON KEN
MRG Carbon Ken, we call him “CK”, was selected as our secondary breed sire because he is a representation of multiple highly-desirable Kiko bloodlines. CK was sired by MRG Carbon Copy, a son of SKY 213 Blue’s Copyright who is a legend in the Kiko world for producing high-performance bucks. CK’s dam is MRG Hemi’s Kenza, a daughter of GFI Hemi from the GOATEX Terminator line.
CK has outstanding body condition, thick quarters and that recognizable roan coloring from his Copyright heritage. We tested his breeding ability at only 9-months old against 10 full size does, and he did not disappoint. This coming year we plan to breed him to roughly 35 does to continue to build-out our herd.
